I know because I was there too.

I had built a thriving business.

I was fully booked, had a waitlist a mile long, and was known for helping people get out of pain quickly, even when they'd been struggling for years.

From the outside, I looked healthy.

I exercised. I ate well. I prioritized self-care. I'd even hired a cleaner.

So when I found myself sitting on the bathroom floor at a friend's house on Vancouver Island thinking,

"This is killing me."

"I can't keep doing this."

I was completely confused.

How could someone who taught health for a living be so burnt out?

That's when I stopped looking for another self-care strategy...

...and started thinking like the scientist I had been trained to be.

Long before Athletic Therapy, I earned an Honours degree in Chemistry.

Chemistry taught me something simple:

Every problem has an underlying mechanism.

You don't solve the symptom.

You find the reaction that's driving it.

So instead of asking,

"How do I manage my burnout?"

I started asking,

"What's actually happening inside the body that's creating burnout in the first place?"

That question changed everything.

I discovered that burnout wasn't a motivation problem.

It wasn't a mindset problem.

And it certainly wasn't because I needed another vacation.

It was a biology problem.

My nervous system had been carrying stress for so long that my body no longer knew how to switch it off.

No amount of healthy eating, exercise, or productivity hacks could solve that.

I had to work with my biology before anything else.

That discovery became the foundation for everything I teach today.
