Chai Latte Smoothie
A yummy alternative to coffee that leaves you feeling satisfied without spiking your adrenaline or increasing inflammation
1 1/2 cup almond or non-dairy milk of choice
1/4 Tbsp ginger, finely minced or grated
1/4 Tbsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp cardamom seeds (shell removed) or powder
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
1 date pitted or 1 Tbsp maple syrup (if using dates, soak first to ensure it blends smoothly)
Sea salt to taste
Place ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth
Enjoy!
Nutritional Down low ~ add some oomph and body to your shake with a dollop of almond butter. For added energy sub out half the amount of non dairy milk for freshly brewed black or green tea. Enjoy a boost in your iron intake contained in cardamom.
